Acceptance

These terms form an agreement between you and Grappler LLC ("Grappler," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, accessing, creating an account in, joining a session through, submitting a result with, or otherwise using Grappler, you agree to these terms. If you use Grappler for an association, school, club, event, or other organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these terms for that use. If you do not agree, do not use Grappler or its connected services.

The Privacy Policy explains how Grappler and its service providers process information and is part of these terms.

Platforms and store terms

These terms apply to Grappler on Android phones and tablets, iPhone and iPad, Wear OS, Apple Watch, Apple TV, the Grappler website, and Grappler's connected cloud services. Features vary by platform.

Apps obtained through Apple are also governed by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apps obtained through Google Play are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. These Grappler terms supplement rather than replace applicable app store and platform terms. Applicable store or platform terms control where they must by law or contract.

License and ownership

Subject to these terms and applicable store terms, Grappler grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the app for its intended wrestling-related purposes. Grappler is licensed, not sold. Grappler LLC and its licensors retain all rights in the apps, website, designs, software, trademarks, reference content, and other materials not expressly granted to you.

You may not copy, sell, sublicense, redistribute, modify, create derivative works from, or reverse engineer Grappler except where an applicable law or an open-source license expressly permits it. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their own license terms.

Independent wrestling tool

Grappler is an independent scoring, timing, meet-management, workflow, evaluation, and reference tool. It is not a governing body, certification authority, official record keeper, or substitute for the current rules, policies, training, certification, medical protocols, or judgment of the applicable governing organization and match official. The controlling rules and the authorized official's decisions govern each bout.

Rule-based injury, blood, recovery, and head-and-neck timers are timing aids. They are not medical devices and do not diagnose, treat, or monitor a medical condition. Users must follow applicable medical, emergency, return-to-play, and governing-body requirements.

Accounts and access

Core mobile tools can be used without a permanent account. Optional features may require Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or a verified email/password account. You must provide accurate account information, keep credentials secure, and promptly report suspected unauthorized account use. Accounts and invitation codes may not be sold or transferred.

You must be legally able to agree to these terms. Grappler is intended for officials, coaches, event personnel, and other adult users and is not directed to children under 13. A person under the age of legal majority may use Grappler only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian and may not create an account if prohibited by applicable law.

Wear OS, Apple Watch, and Apple TV can use temporary service identities to join authorized sessions. Those identities are not permanent Grappler accounts and do not grant access outside the invited session.

Your content and permissions

You retain any rights you have in information you enter, including team and wrestler names, scorebooks, evaluations, observations, rosters, reports, and results. You grant Grappler a limited license to host, process, reproduce, transmit, synchronize, display, and deliver that information only as reasonably necessary to provide the features you select, operate the service, protect it, and comply with law.

You represent that you are permitted to enter, process, share, and submit the information you provide. Do not enter unnecessary sensitive information, more information about a youth athlete than is needed to administer the match, or content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, threatening, defamatory, or harmful.

Timer, scoring, and connected sessions

Local Wi-Fi and Internet Sync are coordination tools for authorized Timer, Scorer, Observer, watch, and television devices. A temporary invitation code is a credential. Share it only with the intended mat crew, assign the minimum necessary role, and end or leave a session when access is no longer needed. You are responsible for commands sent from devices or sessions under your control.

Connected state may be delayed, interrupted, unavailable, or inconsistent because of device, battery, network, operating-system, cloud-service, or software-version conditions. Verify clocks, scores, periods, special timers, role assignments, and displays before and during a bout. Connected devices may require compatible Grappler versions, so all devices participating in a session should be updated together before they are relied upon.

Official result submissions

If you submit a final-dual result, you represent that you are authorized to submit it for the meet and that you have reviewed the teams, scores, date, recipient, and other submitted information. You authorize Grappler to deliver that record to the selected state association or other governing organization.

A confirmation identifier or delivery status does not guarantee that the recipient has accepted, approved, or incorporated a result into its official records. The recipient's rules, correction process, retention practices, and final determination control. A submitted record may be retained by Grappler or the recipient as described in the Privacy Policy even after account deletion.

Assistive features and evaluations

On-device text recognition and other assistive features can produce incomplete or incorrect suggestions. You must review and correct recognized names, weights, rosters, scores, and other information before relying on or submitting it.

Evaluation features record professional observations and opinions about officiating performance. They do not measure personal fitness, wellness, exercise, or biometric health. Users are responsible for applying fair, lawful, and organization-appropriate evaluation practices and for independently reviewing any evaluation outcome.

Acceptable use

  • Use Grappler lawfully and only for its intended purpose.
  • Check entries, scores, clocks, rosters, reports, and other records before relying on or submitting them.
  • Do not impersonate another person, misrepresent your authority, or submit a record you are not authorized to submit.
  • Do not join or control a session without permission or share account credentials, invitation codes, or session data with an unauthorized person.
  • Do not bypass authentication, App Check, role controls, rate limits, or other technical protections.
  • Do not introduce malicious code, scrape protected data, overload the service, disrupt another user, or attempt unauthorized access.

Third-party services and recipients

Optional sign-in, cloud storage, Internet Sync, app attestation, diagnostics, notifications, speech shortcuts, text recognition, and result-delivery features depend on Apple, Google, Firebase, Sentry, network providers, governing organizations, and other third parties. Their terms and privacy practices may apply. Grappler does not control their availability, policies, systems, or treatment of a record after it has been delivered to an authorized recipient.

Privacy and account deletion

Grappler processes information as described in the Privacy Policy. Users with a permanent Grappler account can request deletion through the supported in-app account flow or the account-deletion page. Deleting an app does not by itself delete cloud records. Official result records and records already delivered to another organization may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

Grappler may add, change, update, suspend, restrict, or remove features or compatibility with older versions. We work to keep Grappler useful and reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, successful synchronization or delivery, support for every device, or that every reference remains current without an app or data update. You are responsible for installing updates needed for security, compatibility, rules, or connected-session operation.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Grappler at any time and may delete a permanent account through the available deletion process. Grappler may suspend or terminate access to an account or connected service when reasonably necessary to address a material breach of these terms, protect users or the service, investigate abuse, comply with law, or respond to a security risk. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, submitted-record permissions, disclaimers, and limitations of liability, will survive.

No warranty

To the extent permitted by law, Grappler is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, or non-infringement. Grappler does not warrant that data, rules references, OCR output, evaluations, clocks, alerts, scoring, synchronization, submissions, or third-party services will be complete, current, uninterrupted, or error free. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer rights or other warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Grappler and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss caused by incorrect entries, device failure, missed alerts, inaccurate recognition, unauthorized code sharing, incompatible software versions, network interruption, delayed or failed synchronization or delivery, service unavailability, third-party action, a match or evaluation outcome, or reliance on Grappler in place of controlling rules or professional judgment. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

General terms

These terms, the Privacy Policy, and applicable store and platform terms form the agreement governing your use of Grappler. If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the greatest extent permitted and the remaining provisions will continue. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without Grappler's permission; Grappler may transfer these terms as part of a reorganization, sale, or transfer of the service, subject to applicable law.

Changes to these terms

Grappler may update these terms as its features, supported platforms, service providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date will be revised when changes are published. Where appropriate, Grappler may also provide notice in the app or website. Continuing to use Grappler after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
